What type of patients do you like to treat at FitRight HQ?

I have worked extensively with antenatal and postpartum clients, and I have particular interest in ‘return to running’ rehabilitation. I love assisting women at every stage of life and have also undertaken additional training to be able to assess and fit pessaries for pelvic organ prolapse and continence management. Whether it’s ensuring safe and comfortable movement and exercise during pregnancy, facilitating a smooth recovery after childbirth, or promoting strength and ease during menopause, I believe everyone deserves to live without pain or distressing
symptoms.

What has your journey as a Physiotherapist looked like so far?

Since qualifying in 2011 I’ve worked as a Physiotherapist in London UK, New Zealand and now Perth, treating a mixture of sporting and musculoskeletal injuries.
But Women’s Health has been interwoven throughout and fundamental to my physio
career. After having my own daughter 6 years ago, Women’s Health has been my
sole focus and I have also been fortunate enough to be able to pursue my Master’s
Degree in Continence and Pelvic Health at Curtin University, which I will complete
this year.

What do you love most about working as a women's health physio?

Supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and the many transitions that occur across the lifespan is work I genuinely love. Whether it’s helping a postpartum mum get back to running or helping a grandparent feel strong and able to take care of their grandchildren, I truly feel privileged to be able to help people achieve their goals.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I am a keen runner and CrossFitter and on the weekends you will find me running after my daughter Maia as she bikes ahead of me along the river or joining a morning yoga class in Hyde Park. Having moved to Perth from New Zealand last year with my husband we are loving exploring the hills and gorgeous beaches that Perth has to offer.
