What type of patients do you like to treat at FitRight HQ?
I love treating people of all ages, gender and nationalities - the common factor being that I love treating people who are willing to invest in their health. I particularly enjoy being part of women’s pregnancies and being part of the healing and recovering journey after birth.
What has your journey as a massage therapist looked like so far?
Since graduating in 2014 in Melbourne I have worked in various setups, at home in the different cities I have lived in and in wellness clinics around the world. I moved to Perth in early 2019 and worked in the South Fremantle area for the past 4 years in my own practice.
As my friends started to have children, I became more and more interested in the world of pregnancy and birth and this led me to specialising in pregnancy massage.
I have also been working in the birth space as a birth doula since 2020. I am now honored to become part of FitRight and the highly experienced group of practitioners here.
What do you love most about working as a massage therapist?
I love seeing the 'after-massage-bliss' that my clients regularly have when they leave. What I find is awesome in my job is that once I have helped alleviate people’s tensions and pain, they keep coming back for “maintenance massages”. I love that you do not need to be in pain to receive a regular massage - it's like a time out of regular life, where it is all about yourself and your healing journey. The Mums that I treat know that it is so necessary to learn to receive and make time for themselves, when they are regularly giving so much to their families.
What do you like to do outside of work?
A lot of things! I practise traditional West African dance, I go to the gym, I catch up with my friends, I cook, I go for ocean swims and walks and at home I have a beautiful man and his cheeky children that keep us busy and happy. I also have a dedicated meditation practice.
